The new machines without agitators and HE front loaders have this problem. There are numerous legal proceedings for it.I had a whole and not just the clothes always smelled fluff everywhere impossible, hang dry, because the dryer for a bit of fluff on the outside. As the first man responded, there is a design flaw with the machine. There is a product called Smelly Washer contribution to this problem. It is cheap and not to the washing machine at the time smells fresh re-used.
Tide has developed a new product to eliminate the smell of washing machines. I do not know the name on his hand, but it is published on its website.
